On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

One of my sisters in love is from Ukraine. The first time her family invited me to a baby shower, I was surprised to see that some of the friends of the expecting mother gifted her clothing for her child, sizes two and up. Since babies outgrow their clothing so fast, giving parents gifts that would come in handy in the future is a clever idea.
I guess that is what the Holy Spirit thought when He guided the wise men of the Bible to bring with them gold, frankincense, and myrrh as gifts to the newborn King. The Holy Spirit knew that a short time after the wise men's visit, Joseph and Mary would need those resources to escape King Herod's wrath.
In a world full of uncertainty, it is easy to allow stress to creep into our hearts regarding our future, but there is no need for that. God knows exactly where we are and what we face every day. Inflation, age, finances, or marital status do not affect God's ability to care for us. No matter what we will need in the future, God has it covered.
Gold, frankincense, and myrrh were strange gifts to bring to a baby, but it was exactly what Joseph and Mary would need to save that baby's life when King Herod started killing young boys. Those gifts also helped Mary raise her family after Joseph, her husband, died.
Child of God, when Jesus would tell the people not to worry about tomorrow, He meant it. He knew that God loves to take care of His people. Therefore, do not stress yourself trying to figure out what the future might bring and how you will face that future. Let God take care of you. Just receive with gladness the blessings God sends your way, even if some seem peculiar to you. In due time, God always provides us with what and who we need. Just trust Him.
